I started running at the age of 11 when I was introduced to it by my teacher, Ben Mounsey. A few years later I was racing in the English junior championships. I was never a good junior often finishing a few places from the back, nevertheless I stuck at it due to the fact that I enjoyed it. When I was about 16 the I started to think about what sport I wanted to take seriously. I was a keen footballer, like most lads, and I also swam 5 days a week. I decided to pursue running and the rest is history as they say.
As many people will probably know, my descending leaves a lot to be desired, which is why I have such an interest in the Vertical Kilometre races. I will use this blog to try and keep you up to date with races and events.
